Hi, I'm Aman.

I'm a software engineer on the sensing team at Tesla, where I shipped the cabin radar system — a project I revived and grew into multiple safety-critical features across millions of vehicles.

Before Tesla, I studied Robotics and Embedded Software at UC Berkeley and Electrical Engineering at IIT Kanpur. I co-led an autonomous racing team that won silver at the Indy Autonomous Challenge.

I care about things that matter. I'm drawn to problems where standard approaches feel broken, or where others dont recognize the problem at all. I think the best things come from playing infinite games - and I'm always looking for one worth playing.

Selected Work

Cabin Radar — Tesla

Shipped a 60 GHz mmWave radar system to 2.5M+ vehicles. Detects occupant presence, breathing, and heartbeat through blankets and car seats. Enables child-left-alone detection, dynamic airbag deployment, and replaced five seat pressure switches with 67% fewer false alarms.

Revived a project slated for cancellation. Helped Tesla achieve 93% Child Occupant Protection in Euro NCAP 2025.

Autonomous Racing — ROAR

Co-managed a multi-university autonomous racing team across Berkeley, UCSD, CMU, and Hawaii. Built the perception stack for 200 mph autonomous racecars.

Silver Medal at Indy Autonomous Challenge. #1 U.S. team at IAC during CES 2023.

This Website

Built from first principles — raw TCP sockets, a hand-written HTTP server, a manual ACME client for TLS certificates — before graduating to nginx and Next.js.
